Last year was a good year for me, writing-wise and otherwise. Over thirty sales, many in print, a few online. The top shelf of the bookcase by my writing desk is half-filled with anthologies featuring my work. That's a great feeling.
About half of the stories are science fiction and the other half horror and like a 1970's Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial I can't seem to keep one from mixing in with the other.
So the question, as I charge forward into 2011, is how much of the short story energy do I redirect to the first novel? My final project for 2010 wraps up at the end of January and should clock in at a record (for me) 10K words. Still 70K or so short of a novel, but my longest work to date except for some fan fiction created for my youngest son about a certain Time Lord who shall remain nameless. Yep, February 1st will be a big writing day!
Congrats on a great 2010 ... and looking forward to your new accomplishments in 2011!! Jae
